Connect Claude
First turn on the MCP server in Settings › AI Agents.
Claude Desktop
Section titled “Claude Desktop”In Settings › AI Agents, click Add to Claude Desktop…. Keywordee asks first, then adds a keywordee entry to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json. Your other settings are kept, and the first time the old file is saved beside it as .bak. Restart Claude Desktop to see the tools.
Claude Desktop starts local servers as commands, so the entry runs npx mcp-remote …. That needs Node.js on your Mac. The token is stored in that file: regenerate it in Settings if the file is ever shared, then click Add to Claude Desktop… again to update the entry.
Claude Code
Section titled “Claude Code”Run this in Terminal, with the token from Settings:
claude mcp add --transport http keywordee \ http://127.0.0.1:7420/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer <your token>"If it doesn’t connect
Section titled “If it doesn’t connect”- Keywordee must be open, with Let AI agents use Keywordee on this Mac switched on.
- If you regenerated the token, update it in Claude.
- If you changed the port in Settings, use the new port in the address.
- Claude Desktop needs Node.js for the
npxcommand.
