Terms of service
These terms are between you and Andrew Shephard, a sole trader trading as Keywordee, Zahradníčkova 1220/20a, 150 00 Prague, Czech Republic ("Keywordee", "we"). By buying or using Keywordee you agree to them. If you are buying for a company, you confirm you can bind it.
1. What Keywordee is
Keywordee is a Mac app, with an online service behind it, for researching keywords on the App Store and Google Play. The app shows popularity, difficulty and rank for keywords in a storefront, finds keywords that pass your gem rules, and has a local server that AI agents on your Mac can connect to. Keywordee works only with a license and needs macOS 14 or later.
2. Your license
- A license is a key you buy with an annual subscription. At launch we sell the single license: one seat, which means one Mac at a time.
- You activate a Mac by pasting the key into the app. Activating ties that Mac to the license using a key held in the Mac's Secure Enclave, which can't be copied to another Mac. The app sends us the license key, the Mac's name and the public half of that key.
- To move to another Mac, deactivate the first one in the app's Settings, or from My Orders on your Lemon Squeezy receipt, and then activate the new one.
- The license is for you. Don't share your key, sell it, or use it on more Macs than it has seats. A copied key can't run extra Macs anyway, and we may disable a key that is being shared.
- A team license (three seats, with extra seats for more Macs) is planned but isn't for sale yet. These terms will be updated when it is.
3. Price, payment and renewal
- The single license costs $99 a year. Prices are in US dollars and tax is added where it applies.
- Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record and reseller. You buy from Lemon Squeezy, which takes your payment, collects and pays any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt and license key, and handles billing questions under its own terms.
- The subscription renews every year until you cancel. You can cancel, update your payment details and get invoices from the Customer Portal link in your receipt. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the license works until the period you paid for ends.
- Prices can change for future renewals. The price you see in your receipt or Customer Portal before a renewal is the one that applies. We give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change before your next renewal.
4. Refunds
You can have a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase and within 14 days of each renewal. See Refunds. A refunded license is disabled.
5. When a license ends
If your license lapses (the subscription ends or isn't renewed), is refunded or is disabled, Keywordee becomes read-only on your Mac. Everything you tracked stays visible there and you can export it. Adding keywords, refreshing and finding new gems stop, and so do the parts of the app and the AI agent server that need keyword data from our service. Renewing the license, or activating a new one, brings the app back.
6. Fair use
Keyword data is fetched once and shared by every license, so each license has daily limits on how much new data it can ask for. The limits protect the service from a leaked key or from runaway scripts. They are set above normal use. If you hit one, the app tells you and it resets the next UTC day. Don't try to avoid the limits, overload the service, scrape it, resell the data or reverse engineer the app to reach the service without it.
7. Where the numbers come from
Popularity and difficulty are scores on a 5 to 100 scale that Keywordee works out from public store data and other sources. On the App Store the popularity score is Apple's own. On Google Play, popularity and difficulty are estimates. Ranks come from store search results at the time we checked them. Use the numbers to help decide, not as a promise of how many downloads or what ranking you will get. Keywordee is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Google.
8. Your data
The apps and keywords you track stay on your Mac. What we collect, and why, is in the Privacy page.
9. Updates and availability
We update Keywordee and may change or remove features. We aim to keep the service running but don't promise it will always be available. Sources outside our control, such as the stores, can change or block access to their data, and when that happens the numbers we show can be stale or missing for a while. If we ever discontinue Keywordee, we will refund the unused part of your current year, and the app keeps working read-only with everything stored on your Mac, including export.
10. Ownership
Keywordee, its code and its design belong to us or our licensors. Your license lets you use the app on your seat's Mac, not copy, modify or redistribute it. Your own lists and notes remain yours.
11. Warranty and liability
Keywordee is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't give any warranty that it will be error-free or fit a particular purpose, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost downloads, lost data or indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the license in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights where you have them.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law that applies to you.
12. Ending these terms
You can stop using Keywordee at any time. We can disable a license that breaks these terms, such as by sharing a key or abusing the service. Sections that by their nature continue (ownership, liability and governing law) survive.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a material change, we email the address you bought with at least 30 days before it takes effect.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the courts of the Czech Republic can decide disputes, without removing any consumer rights you have in the place you live.
